Why this is useful
The cheapest premium is not always the cheapest policy. If you have to claim, the excess (deductible) matters too. This puts two quotes you already have side by side.
How it is calculated
Worst-case cost if you claim = premium + excess. It also shows each premium per day and as a share of the trip cost.
Worked example
Example only: Quote A at 60 with a 250 excess costs up to 310 if you claim; Quote B at 85 with a 50 excess costs up to 135. B costs more upfront but less if something goes wrong.
Common mistakes
- Comparing price without checking medical limits, cancellation cover and exclusions.
- Not declaring pre-existing conditions, which can void a claim.
- Assuming adventure activities are covered by default.
Questions
Does this give me an insurance price?
No. It only compares quotes you enter. Get quotes from licensed insurers and read each policy wording.
What should I check besides price?
Medical and evacuation limits, cancellation cover, baggage limits, excess and exclusions.
